在线喷泉码及其在水声网络的研究现状

Research Status of Online Fountain Codes and Applications in Underwater Acoustic Networks

  • 摘要: 水声网络(UANs)具有带宽窄、时延长、能量受限等特性,致使水下数据可靠传输面临严峻挑战。在线喷泉码(OFC)作为一种新型无码率编码技术,可依据反馈的解码状态获取最优编码策略,相较于传统喷泉码,其具备在线调控能力与更低的编码开销,逐渐被学术界应用于UANs数据可靠传输领域。为理清OFC及其在UANs中的现有研究进展、关键技术瓶颈与未来研究方向,采用系统梳理与数值分析23项OFCs机制相结合的方法,重点剖析适用于UANs的OFC核心机制,全面总结以上3方面内容。研究表明:OFC凭借其独特优势,在解决UANs数据可靠传输难题中具有重要应用价值,为后续OFC在UANs中的深入研究提供理论参考。

     

    Abstract: Underwater acoustic networks (UANs) feature narrow bandwidth, large propagation delay and limited energy, which bring formidable challenges to reliable underwater data transmission. As an emerging rateless coding scheme, online fountain code (OFC) is capable of formulating optimal encoding strategies according to decoding status feedback. Compared with conventional fountain codes, OFC possesses online adaptability and lower encoding overhead, and has therefore been increasingly applied to reliable data transmission in UANs. To systematically elaborate the research advances, core technical bottlenecks and future development trends of OFC and its applications in UANs, a systematic review and quantitative analysis of 23 typical OFC mechanisms are conducted in this paper. The core principles of OFC adapted to UAN scenarios are analyzed and the above 3 research dimensions are comprehensively summarized. The results reveal that OFC, owing to its distinctive superiorities, possesses great application potential in tackling reliable data transmission issues in UANs, and can provide solid theoretical guidance for further in-depth investigations on OFC-based UAN communication.
