Study on Relationship of Typhoon Underwater Noise Spectrum Levels with Water Depths
-
Abstract
Based on the sound propagation theory of sea surface noise sources, the propagation characteristics of sea surface noise sources with water depths are studied in this paper. Based on Knudsen and Koopman-Ferra’s optimization of typhoon noise model and the attenuation of sea surface sound sources with water depths, the relation curve of typhoon noise sound pressure spectrum levels at different frequencies with water depths is obtained. Through the analysis of the measured typhoon data, the correctness of the variation rule of typhoon noise spectrum levels at different frequencies with water depths is verified, and the reason why the difference of some frequency bands is slightly larger is analyzed. The conclusion can provide a valuable reference for the underwater noise modeling of shallow-water typhoons and the assessment of natural interference resistance in underwater acoustic detection under severe sea conditions.
